Simmering Sunday (Homemade Rice A Roni)

Sometimes I run out of planned meals to make and I have to be creative..
And I'd have to say typically it's a success and where some of my best recipes come.

This time I wasn't so sure,
even being so unsure I purposely didn't take pictures of the process.

To my surprise, this side dish was AMAZING!

So I don't have the process of pictures but it's really simple.

You need:

1 cup rice- I used brown rice
! cup of water
spaghetti noodles - (about 10 sticks) broken up or vermicilli
2 tablespoons of butter
1/2 tbsp -dried or fresh parsley
1/2 tbsp- dried oregano
1/2 tbsp - dried basil
salt and pepper
optional: chicken bouillon cubes or knorr's if you have it

Directions:
In a saucepan melt butter and add rice and spaghetti and brown them about 3-4min.
Add 1 cup of water and all the seasonings, bring to boil and turn down heat let simmer about 5 min.. Remove from heat. Let sit about 15-20 min. till all liquid is absorbed.

BAM!! Rica a Roni, A VERY SIMPLE TREAT!
